Ingredients

2 cups elbow macaroni

4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1 cup cream cheese, softened

4 cups whole milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt to taste

1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional for topping)

Instructions

Prepare the Pasta: In a pot, cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Mix the Cheese Sauce: In a large bowl, combine the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and softened cream cheese. Stir well until all the cheeses are mixed together.

Add the Liquids: In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and salt. Pour this mixture into the bowl with the cheese and mix until smooth.

Combine Everything: In your slow cooker, add the cooked macaroni and the cheese sauce mixture. Stir well to combine. Add the cooked and crumbled bacon, mixing it in evenly.

Slow Cook: Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally. If your slow cooker tends to run hot, keep an eye on it to ensure it doesn't dry out. The mac and cheese should be bubbly and creamy.

Optional Crispy Topping: If desired, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking for a crunchy topping. You may also drizzle a little melted butter over the breadcrumbs for extra flavor.

Serve: Once cooked, stir again and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve hot, topped with additional crumbled bacon if desired.
