Ingredients

8 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium recommended)

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, salt, smoked paprika, and apple cider vinegar until well combined.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Place the chicken drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, ensuring they are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to overnight for more flavor).

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Arrange Drumsticks: Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easier cleanup and place a wire rack on top (if available). Arrange the marinated drumsticks on the rack, allowing space between each piece.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is golden brown. Brush some of the leftover marinade on the chicken halfway through baking for extra flavor.

Glaze and Broil: For added caramelization, switch your oven to broil. Broil the chicken for an additional 2-4 minutes, keeping a close eye to prevent burning. The glaze should be bubbling and beautifully caramelized.

Rest and Serve: Remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for about 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh rosemary or thyme if desired. Serve hot and enjoy the delicious, sticky maple glaze!
