Healthy Greek Chicken Pita Wraps

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 pound)

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 whole wheat pitas

1 cup Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon dried dill

1 cucumber, diced

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 red onion, thinly sliced

1 cup mixed greens (spinach, arugula, or lettuce)

Feta cheese, crumbled (optional)

Kalamata olives, pitted and sliced (optional)

Instructions
 

Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken breasts, making sure they are evenly coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for more flavor).

    Cook the Chicken: Preheat a grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting any excess drizzle off. Grill or cook the chicken for about 7-8 minutes per side until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Once cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it into strips.

      Prepare the Tzatziki Sauce: In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and dried dill. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

        Assemble the Wraps: Warm the whole wheat pitas on a skillet or in the microwave for a few seconds until pliable. Spread a generous spoonful of the tzatziki sauce inside each pita pocket.

          Add Filling: Layer in the sliced chicken, diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, and mixed greens. If desired, add crumbled feta cheese and sliced Kalamata olives for an extra flavor boost.

            Serve: Wrap the pitas tightly and serve immediately with additional tzatziki sauce on the side for dipping, if desired.
