Ingredients

1 fully cooked ham (about 8-10 lbs)

1 cup honey

1/4 cup fresh ginger, grated

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 cloves garlic, minced

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

Prepare the Ham: Remove the ham from its packaging and place it on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. If desired, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern to help the glaze penetrate.

Make the Glaze: In a medium saucepan, combine honey, grated ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, black pepper, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic. Whisk the mixture over medium heat until it comes to a simmer and the sugar has dissolved. Allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

Glaze the Ham: Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the ham, making sure to cover all surfaces. Reserve the remaining glaze for later basting.

Bake the Ham: Place the ham in the preheated oven and bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until heated through, basting with the reserved glaze every 30 minutes for a rich flavor.

Final Touch: For a caramelized finish, during the last 20 minutes of baking, increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and allow the ham to get a golden-brown color.

Rest and Serve: Once done, remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
