Ingredients

2 cups Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)

1 cup unsweetened applesauce

2 medium apples, peeled and diced (preferably Granny Smith)

1/4 cup honey or maple syrup (adjust based on sweetness preference)

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)

1 cup rolled oats

1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Cooking spray or parchment paper for lining

Instructions

Prepare the Pan: Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly coat with cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Mix the Yogurt Base: In a large mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, applesauce, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until well combined and smooth.

Add Apples and Oats: Fold in the diced apples and rolled oats into the yogurt mixture gently until evenly distributed. If using, also mix in the chopped walnuts or pecans for added texture.

Spread the Mixture: Pour the yogurt mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Make sure it's smooth and level.

Freeze: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and place it in the freezer. Freeze for at least 4 hours, or until the mixture is firm.

Cut into Squares: Once frozen solid, remove the dish from the freezer and let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften slightly. Using a sharp knife, cut into squares of your desired size.

Serve: Enjoy the frozen yogurt apple cinnamon squares immediately, or store them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a month.
