Ingredients

1 block (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and drained

1/4 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Sriracha Honey Sauce:

1/4 cup honey (or agave syrup for vegan)

3 tablespoons Sriracha sauce

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 teaspoon sesame oil

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Tofu: Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes (about 1-inch pieces). In a large bowl, combine the cornstarch, breadcrumbs, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

Coat the Tofu: Add the cubed tofu to the bowl and gently toss to coat each piece evenly with the breadcrumb mixture.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Ensure the pan is hot before adding the tofu to achieve a good crunch.

Fry the Tofu: Carefully place the coated tofu cubes in the hot oil, leaving space between each piece. Fry in batches if necessary. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, Sriracha, lime juice, sesame oil, and minced garlic until well combined.

Glaze the Tofu: Drizzle the Sriracha honey sauce over the crispy tofu bites, and gently toss to coat fully. You can also serve the sauce on the side for dipping.

Garnish and Serve: Transfer the coated tofu bites to a serving dish, sprinkle with freshly chopped cilantro, and serve hot.
