1 package (14 oz) of wonton wrappers

8 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes

1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for added heat)

1 large egg, beaten (for sealing)

Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Marinara sauce for dipping

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the fresh mozzarella cubes, shredded Italian cheese, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, dried Italian herbs, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until well combined.

    Prepare the Wontons: Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean, dry surface. Place a teaspoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each wrapper.

      Seal the Wontons: Brush the edges of each wonton wrapper with the beaten egg. Fold the wrapper in half diagonally to create a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly. You can also create a little pleat on the edges for decorative purposes.

        Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat about 1-2 inches of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). To test if the oil is ready, drop in a small piece of wonton wrapper; it should sizzle immediately.

          Fry the Wontons: Carefully place a few wontons in the hot oil, being sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

            Drain: Once cooked, transfer the wontons to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Repeat the frying process with the remaining wontons.

              Serve: Arrange the crispy mozzarella wonton dippers on a serving platter and serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping. Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired.
