1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed

8 slices of bacon (preferably thick-cut)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

Cooking spray (for the air fryer)

Instructions
 

Prep the Asparagus: Rinse the asparagus under cool water and trim the woody ends off. Pat them dry with a kitchen towel.

    Seasoning: In a large bowl, drizzle the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss well to ensure each spear is coated evenly.

      Wrap with Bacon: Take each slice of bacon and cut it in half lengthwise. Carefully wrap a half-slice of bacon around each asparagus spear, starting at the base and spiraling up to the tip. Repeat until all asparagus spears are wrapped.

        Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This ensures even cooking and crispiness.

          Arrange in Air Fryer: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the bacon-wrapped asparagus in a single layer in the basket, making sure they don't overlap. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

            Air Fry: Cook the asparagus for 10-12 minutes, rotating or flipping halfway through for even crisping. The bacon should be crispy and the asparagus tender but still slightly firm.
