12 oz (340g) pasta of your choice (e.g., fettuccine, penne, or spaghetti)

1 cup fresh basil leaves, packed

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/3 cup pine nuts (toasted)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Extra Parmesan for serving

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta cooking water before draining the pasta.

    Make the Pesto: In a food processor, combine the fresh basil leaves, Parmesan cheese, toasted pine nuts, and minced garlic. Pulse until finely chopped. While the processor is running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil until the mixture is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

      Combine Cream and Pesto: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the heavy cream and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir in the prepared pesto and mix until well combined. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta cooking water to reach the desired consistency.
