2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted

1 cup fresh basil leaves, tightly packed

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

1/4 cup olive oil

1/2 teaspoon sea salt (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for a kick)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for non-vegans)

Cherry tomatoes, halved (for garnish)

Extra basil leaves, for garnish

Pine nuts or walnuts, toasted (optional for garnish)

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, then drain the rest and set aside.
