Ingredients

1 cup fresh blackberries

1 cup water (for blackberry syrup)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)

2-3 cups cold water (for dilution)

1/4 cup fresh sage leaves (plus extra for garnish)

Ice cubes

Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Blackberry Syrup:

In a small saucepan, combine the blackberries, 1 cup of water, and sugar. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the blackberries release their juices (about 5-7 minutes).

      Strain the Syrup:

Once the mixture starts to boil, remove it from the heat. Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the syrup into a bowl, discarding the solids. Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature.

          Infuse the Sage:

In a separate saucepan, heat 1 cup of water until it’s just about to boil. Remove from heat and add the fresh sage leaves. Let it steep for about 10 minutes for maximum flavor, then strain out the sage.

              Mix the Lemonade:

In a large pitcher, combine the blackberry syrup, fresh lemon juice, and infused sage water. Stir well to incorporate all the ingredients. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more syrup or lemon juice as desired.

                  Dilute and Serve:

Add 2-3 cups of cold water to the pitcher, depending on your taste preference for concentration. Stir and serve over ice cubes. Garnish with sage leaves and lemon slices for an eye-catching presentation.

                      Enjoy:

Refresh yourself with this delightful Blackberry Sage Lemonade, perfect for warm days, picnics, or any gathering!
