Ingredients

1 pound salmon fillet, skinless and boneless, cut into bite-sized cubes

1/3 cup teriyaki sauce (homemade or store-bought)

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon ginger powder (or 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger)

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a medium bowl, combine the salmon cubes with teriyaki sauce, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper. Gently toss to coat the salmon evenly. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Prepare the Coating: After marinating, sprinkle the cornstarch over the salmon pieces and toss gently until all pieces are evenly coated. This step is crucial for achieving that crispy texture when air-frying.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes. This ensures that the salmon bites get a nice sear on the outside.

Arrange in Air Fryer Basket: Lightly brush or spray the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the coated salmon bites in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they aren't overcrowded for even cooking. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.

Air Fry the Salmon: Cook the salmon bites for 8-10 minutes, tossing them halfway through the cooking time. They should turn golden brown and crispy on the outside.

Garnish and Serve: Once done, take them out of the air fryer and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve immediately with extra teriyaki sauce for dipping if desired.
