Ingredients

1 lb fresh salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into bite-sized cubes

1/4 cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tbsp honey or maple syrup

1 inch piece of fresh ginger, grated

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp sesame oil

1/4 cup cornstarch

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Sesame seeds, for garnish

Sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Marinate the Salmon: In a medium bowl, combine the teriyaki sauce, honey or maple syrup, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Stir to mix well. Add the salmon cubes, ensuring they are all coated with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).

Prepare for Air Frying: After marinating, remove the salmon from the refrigerator. Drain excess marinade and pat the salmon bites with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This step will help achieve a crispy exterior.

Coat with Cornstarch: In a shallow bowl, add the cornstarch. Gently toss each salmon cube in the cornstarch, ensuring they are well-coated. Shake off any excess cornstarch, and place the coated salmon bites on a plate.

Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.

Air Fry the Salmon: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Place the salmon bites in a single layer (work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding). Spray the tops of the salmon with cooking spray for extra crispiness.

Cook: Air fry the salmon bites for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Cook time may vary depending on your air fryer, so check for doneness.

Garnish and Serve: Once cooked, remove the salmon bites from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving platter. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish. Serve them warm with extra teriyaki sauce on the side for dipping.
